I have been a student at the Prefectural University of Kumamoto for a year. Through my college life in PUK, I found several things which I want PUK to improve. I’d like to write about two things which I want to change the most.
First, I want PUK to establish a convenience store or something in the grounds of the university. There are some convenience stores near the university, but it is a little bit far to go during a lunch break. You know there is a “MARUZEN” in PUK. However, I am not satisfied with both its business hours and its product lineup. The shop opens at 10 a.m. and closes at 6 p.m. I think it is not useful for the students at PUK. Also, there are few products to choose from. We have a student cafeteria, but it is always too crowded to buy food and eat in. So, MARUZEN should add to its product lineup, especially in regards to food.
Second, I feel it is unfair to students in the faculty of literature. This year, PUK improved only the faculty of administration. I think the education faculties of the faculty of literature, for example the equipment of the language laboratory, need repairing. I want PUK to expand and complete its facilities for the faculty of literature. The building of lecture rooms for the faculty of literature is gloomy and quite old. I’m reluctant to listen to a lecture in such a room.
These are my personal opinions for PUK. Though I know it is hard for PUK to accept our ideas, I would like PUK to listen to them even a little.

Book Review #3: The 18 Penny Goose
-Summary-
It was the spring of 1778 and the American colonies were fighting the War for Independence. British soldiers were only a mile or two away. They were marching toward Letty's house. So, Letty Wright and her family must flee quickly and go over the mountain where they would be safe. They had to go, leaving everything behind even Letty's friend Solomon the gander. Letty knew hungry soldiers took farm animals for food. First she tried to persuade Solomon to hide in the woods for a few days, but he didn't hide. So, she wrote to soldiers that "please do not harm my geese".
Letty and her family stayed with her father's friends for three days. Each evening, she wished on the first star that Solomon would be safe. After the three days, they headed home. The house was not burned but the fences were broken. Worst of all, the geese were gone. They went into the house, and found a letter for Letty from the soldiers. It said that they paid a penny a goose and left the change with the gander. She ran outside and found Solomon in the barn. A leather sack with 18 pennies was tied around his neck.
Letty walked back to the house with her family. Solomon was safe and the soldiers were gone. There were a lot of work to be done.
-Comments-
This book was easy to read and I thought it was suitable for book reviews. I was glad that Solomon was safe. The soldiers read Letty's letter and did not eat the gander Solomon. I know there is no choice that the hungry soldiers often take farm animals for food. However, I hoped the soldiers not to have broken the fences and eaten other geese. Anyway, it is good for the soldiers to pay the change for the geese. I think Letty is a good girl, so the soldiers were influenced by her honest heart.

Kasumi's Birthday Party

Although May 4Th was Kasumi's 20Th birthday, we couldn't have a party for her on the day. We had a birthday party on May 11Th. There were 8 people including Kasumi at the party. We went to Kitchen [Ku:] near the City Hall of Kumamoto city. I have been there once when I had a party with my cousins, and its food and drink were very good. So, I suggested there for Kasumi's birthday party. I was glad because my friends were satisfied with the dishes. I would like to go there again with my friends who couldn't come together on the day. I'm sure that she will like it too.
Mother's Day

May 10Th was Mother's Day. I had plan to have a lunch together at Miami. However, my mother went out to the sports festival of my little brother's high school with my father. So, I took them up to Miami during lunch time.
Miami was crowded with a lot of customers, so we had to wait a while to be seated. After we got seats, we ordered pilafs, pasta and pizza. During a waiting time, I gave my mother the preserved flower which I bought yesterday. She received it with delight and said thank you. When we was taking pictures of the gift, the meal was served. They were all delicious. We could enjoy the lunch time!
Now, the preserved flower is on my mother's dresser. I'm happy to hear that because she can see it everyday!
Fateful Encounter
I went to buy a gift for my mother by myself. I could find a beautiful preserved flower at TURUYA.
After shopping, I went to a cafe to have a cup of tea. When I was waiting in line, I felt a tap on the shoulder. I turned around in surprise, and there was Mai with a smile. We had have no plan to meet, but I could meet her by chance. We had a coffee break together and talked a lot. I enjoyed spending time with Mai!
It was the fateful encounter, wasn't it?
